Aura Décor
Spaces That Speak

A wall is never just a wall. In the hands of our artisans, it becomes a canvas for centuries of folk tradition — carved Jharokhas, hand-painted art platters, decorative pots, and vases that carry the spirit of India's richest craft regions into your home.

The Art of Adorning
Your Walls

In Indian homes, walls are sacred spaces. From the carved Jharokhas of Rajasthani havelis to the painted clay pots of rural Bengal, decoration has always carried meaning. Our Aura Décor collection brings this tradition home.

Every Jharokha is hand-carved from seasoned wood. Every decorative pot is shaped on the wheel and painted by hand. Every piece carries the identity of the artisan who made it — their region, their motifs, their heritage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our Aura Décor wall art and folk décor collection.

What is a Jharokha and how is it used in home décor?
A Jharokha is a traditional overhanging enclosed window or decorative frame from Rajasthani architecture. Originally built into palace walls for ventilation and viewing, today they are used as statement wall décor pieces. You can hang them as wall art, use them to frame a mirror, or style them as standalone decorative objects on a console table. Learn more in our Jharokha guide.
What wood is used to craft the Jharokhas and wall décor?
Our Jharokhas and carved wall pieces are made from mango wood and sheesham (Indian rosewood) — both known for their durability, warm grain, and excellent carving properties. The wood is seasoned and kiln-dried before carving to prevent warping and cracking.
How do I hang a Jharokha on the wall?
Each Jharokha comes with a mounting hook or hanging wire on the back. For single-nail hanging, we recommend a load-bearing wall nail or hook. For heavier pieces (above 2kg), we suggest using a wall anchor. Our customer support team is happy to provide installation guidance if needed.
Are the decorative pots suitable for plants?
Our decorative pots are primarily designed as display pieces. Some are unsealed inside and can hold small plants with a plastic liner. Others are purely decorative. The product listing indicates whether each pot is suitable for planting. We recommend pairing them with a nursery pot for the best look and protection of the finish.
How do I care for wooden wall décor pieces?
Keep wooden décor away from direct sunlight for extended periods and high humidity. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth to clean. Avoid using water or chemical cleaners on painted or lacquered surfaces. Apply a thin coat of beeswax or furniture wax every 6–12 months to maintain the richness of the wood grain.
Can I customise the size or colour of a Jharokha?
Yes! We offer customisation on selected Jharokha and wall décor pieces for bulk orders (3 pieces or more). You can choose wood finish, dimensions within our artisan's capability, and colour palette. Contact us at info@auranestsdecor.com to discuss your requirements.
